Matt's notes on the moon Pheron

 A strange situation, almost unique to this system: The planet, Elea, is under UPMW control, but one of its moons, Pheron, isn’t. The moon’s land surface is covered almost fully in factories, mostly producing ship parts. Some lobbyists managed to convince the government Pheron deserved to be independent, just so they could coat it with factories that completely destroy its environment. When I read it had a light atmosphere and no large bodies of water, I thought it might be the first mission where I don’t need some kind of special breathing equipment. Well, the environment is certainly livable, but it’s recommended to use some kind of breathing filter so as not to breathe in all the toxins from the factories. Going there without one can lead to cancer and other diseases. I’ve read that cancer was hard or even impossible to fully remove for a long time, but even now it’s not an easy or fun process.
